5. and 6. Denim and Wax

Today is a twofer--two discards in one post, and two creations for one. I forgot to do the project on Saturday night.  I kept trying to figure something to to get rid of and then I got caught up in something else and forgot, so today I did two.  I picked the object for #5, but then I was having a tough time figuring out what to do with it, and finally came up with this:

Which used to be this:

I have too many candle holders.  I love candles, but truly I have run out of places to put them (safely) so there will be more projects with candle holders--especially for those that I got by default because I sold Partylite.  The whale head is from a cherished teapot that broke and has been in my broken glass/dishware future project chest of drawers, and I now have a better idea of what I can do with it when I am ready.

For Day 6, I chose a piece of clothing (as punishment for missing day 5).  It was either shape it into something and give it away, or make something new with it.

I decided to upcycle it, but that meant I had to clean off the kitchen table to sew.  (I know for sure that I don't need a dining table in an RV because it simply becomes a dumping ground for I'll put it away later.)

I created two objects for this project and I took pictures during the process so I can do a tutorial for it on my other blog. I'll post a link here once I get the tutorial posted. (Those little flaps on the handle actually button to the handle and don't stick out.)

The liner is from an old drape for a sliding glass door that I made for my house in Colorado.  I have been dragging that around for 10 years and now it has a stain right about in the middle of it--so it is fabric again.

Then, since I had the sleeves left, I thought I would make a wine bottle bag.

3. Fairybot

I went through a drawer today and just grabbed random stuff--including the bottom of fairy figurine that broke in half, which became the bottom of my little robot kind of girl. (I of course kept the top half of the fairy -- wings in tact --for a future project.)

Although I started with everything in the top right frame in the picture below, I just didn't like anyway I put the spoon or the flower, so I stuck them back in the drawer--just kidding I threw them away.

Oh, I almost forgot.  I did add the syringe pen to the girl and snapped a photo.  I think I like this expression best. I love those syringe pens, especially around Halloween, but the truth is, I just don't use them.  I have a pen fetish.
